Accomplishments

• Produced funding proposals that raised more than $4 million in corporate and foundation grants in 18 months as the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations for Mount Saint Mary’s College.
• Raised almost $5 million in government, foundation and individual gifts for Cal State LA, as well as assisted with the solicitation of a $1.5 million gift for an endowed chair.
• Facilitated strategic and program planning committees for the ACCESS Center and the College of Education at Cal State LA, the Sheriff’s Youth Foundation and the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Council of Los Angeles.
• Created RFP proposals, negotiated and monitored more than $1.3 million in government contracts for Project Open Hand, with an 80 percent funding success rate for written proposals submitted.
• Assisted with the development and evaluation of the Federal Uniform Reporting System for the collection of client demographics under the Ryan White CARE Act.
• Founder and Director for the Bronx Association of Food Pantries, a coalition of more than 50 non-profit anti-hunger agencies that collectively fed almost 200,000 people a year.
• Developed state regulations for the distribution of more than $7.5 million in Federal Emergency Management Agency funds to emergency food providers in New York State.
• Liaison/Policy Consultant for state health officials and Bronx service agencies in statistical and legislative research conducted by New York State Hunger Watch.
